PIANO LESSONS
Teacher with a clean background
I have a professional teacher's license for Colorado, with over 15 years of teaching experience in varied settings from the classroom to small villages in Guatemala. I know how to teach, with styles and strategies to reach all kinds of learners. As someone who has worked with children and teens for the past 20 years, I have been through background checks in various states and at the federal level. Extensive piano libary (Books included!)
This is highly unusual in the field of music education, as typically the cost of books is charged in addition to the cost of lessons. Students tend to outgrow their books rather quickly, therefore, I include the books as rentals in my rates. Borrowing books from my piano book library translates into HUGE savings for you, easily hundreds of dollars over the course of a few years of lessons. Personalized Lessons
As a teacher, I know firsthand that not everyone learns the same way. That's normal and totally OK, because I have a plethora of strategies to teach various types of learners. Lesson plans will be sufficiently challenging, but realistic; I will push students enough that they will learn, but at each individual's level. Lessons will progress at the students' rate of learning, with the style of music most enjoyable to that individual student. With my extensive piano book library, if a student doesn't like one style, we will find another. There's no need to suffer through a book a student doesn't like because... Lessons should be fun!
I want my students to enjoy their time with me, and their time at the piano. Otherwise, what's the point? I enjoy being around people and I absolutely love working with kids. I especially enjoy sharing my passion with others. You will see very quickly that I am passionate about what I do, and that passion quickly translates into positive experiences with my students. Choose Stacy as your or your child's piano teacher. Here are the top 10 reasons why:
1. TEACHER WITH CLEAN BACKGROUND 2. BOOKS INCLUDED 3. PERSONALIZED LESSONS 4. LESSONS SHOULD BE FUN! 5. FIRM FOUNDATION All students will learn the basics to provide a firm foundation for later growth. This includes reading music, finger technique, note values, music theory. No shortcuts taken here, for a firm foundation is essential no matter what music style a student plans to learn. 6. DECADES OF PIANO EXPERIENCE I started taking piano lessons at the wee age of 6 years old. Subtract that from my current age and you get...a person with many years of piano experience. I have played as an accompanist for choirs and professional musicians, background music in hotel lobbies, for weddings and receptions, as a pianist for church services, in benefit concerts to raise funds for various organizations. 7. COMPETITIVE RATES Even with books included, my rates are competitive with other area music teachers. I do not add a surcharge for books to my lesson fees. Discounts are available for members of sponsored organizations, needy families, and deserving students. Weekly lessons of 30 minutes are optimal for learning and growth. 8. MY HOME OR YOURS I have a piano in my home, which is where I like to give lessons due to the resources available, such as my piano book library. There is comfortable seating and a work table for parents while waiting for their child to finish lessons. However, if your home is more convenient, within 10 miles of my home, with a piano available, arrangements can be made to conduct lessons in your home. Please note, an adult must be present for lessons for those 16 years of age and younger, no matter the location of lessons. 9. ASSISTANCE FINDING A PIANO All students must, at a minimum, have a keyboard at home on which to practice daily. After a few months of lessons, however, I highly recommend a piano at home. I can help you find a piano that suits your space and budget constraints, as well as view and play a piano you are considering to ensure it's a sound, quality instrument. Mutually agreeable commission discussed and agreed upon prior. 10. EXCITING FUTURE PLANS Once my start-up begins to grow, my business plan includes involvement with community non-profit organizations. Students will perform their annual recitals at local nursing homes for both their parents and residents. I plan to provide scholarship lessons to needy students with the guidance of local youth music organizations. I am also researching the possibility of music therapy at homeless shelters in Colorado Springs. I sincerely hope I can use my music to make a positive impact in the lives of others. |
